Larry Maguire Applauds Decision to Financially Assist Veterans Commemorate D-Day and the Battle of Normandy

OTTAWA - Larry Maguire, MP for Brandon-Souris welcomed the news from the Minister of Veterans Affairs in regards to the Government of Canada offering up to $2,000 per eligible Veteran of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy to attend 70th anniversary commemorative events in France on June 6, 2014.

"We must never forget the bravery of the men and women during World War II. This funding will be instrumental in assisting any eligible local World War II veteran who is interested in attending the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy," said MP Maguire.
